Freedom's Dreamscape

Project Overview

Freedom's Dreamscape is a large-scale musical, theatrical, and cinematic work built around an anthology of twenty-one original songs and created to commemorate the United States Semiquincentennial. Designed for multigenerational, youth, and family audiences, the production combines cinematic storytelling with original music to explore American history, shared civic ideals, and the enduring power and spirit of freedom.

The twenty-one original songs reflect on the nation’s origins, founding documents, rights, freedoms, the states, the national parks, democratic institutions and 250 years of dreams, progress, discoveries, and inventions. The work is intended as an educational and cultural celebration that highlights continuity across generations while looking forward to the aspirations of the future.

The project is nonpartisan in nature and is designed for presentation through theatrical performance, public media, broadcast, streaming, educational partners, special venue performance and cultural institutions.

Creative Vision Statement

Freedom’s Dreamscape is a musical and visual tribute to the 250th Anniversary of the United States of America — an invitation to step into a living landscape of memory, sacrifice, innovation, and hope.

With music, lyrics, and direction by Harry J. Evry, produced in creative partnership with Jeffrey Braer, Freedom’s Dreamscape stands as an immersive celebration where history and imagination meet — blending composition, storytelling, education, stagecraft, and technology.

The music, lyrics, themes, and overarching storytelling were conceived, composed, and principally authored by Harry J. Evry. Each melody, image, verse, and narrative thread reflects deliberate human authorship and heartfelt creative intention.

Throughout history, artists have embraced the tools of their time — from early optics and projectors to photography and film, from multitrack recording to synthesizers, MIDI and digital samplers, and from optical printing and animation to modern computers, CGI graphics and AI. In this tradition, technology serves as an instrument of creation — guided by human vision and shaped by human hands.

America itself was built by dreamers and builders working together — imagination joined with invention. This production reflects that same spirit: creativity and collaboration united in purpose, honoring and illuminating the past while calling us toward a brighter future.

At its heart, Freedom’s Dreamscape is about the American people — their bravery, resilience, faith, ingenuity, and enduring hope. The creative team employs many of today’s most empowering and innovative tools to help paint the picture and tell the story. Yet the intention and dedication are heartfelt and real, and the music, the words, the meaning, and the spirit are profoundly human.
